SANTA MONICA—As part of an ongoing citywide sustainability effort, Santa Monica announced today plans to install 100 new bike racks in the spring of 2017.

“We’ve been fielding your bike rack requests during the past two years and we are now gearing up to install 100 racks beginning in the spring of 2017. Once that’s complete, we will have additional racks to deploy in mid-to-late 2017” stated a recent post on the city’s official Facebook page. Government officials would like input on where to install these new bike racks from residents and visitors of Santa Monica. This announcement falls in line with other sustainability efforts promoted by the city such as Car Free Friday and Bike It, Bus It, Walk It Week.
