Corpse Found In Malibu Surf Identified

MALIBU—Caution tape and police vehicles walled-off the beach adjacent to the 20500 block of PCH, after a corpse was found washed along the shoreline on Tuesday, February 17.

The corpse was discovered face-down in the surf, sparking an investigation by the Lost Hills Sheriff’s Department concerning the circumstances of the man’s death.

The coroner’s office has produced a positive ID of the man found washed along the Malibu surf.

Although the cause of death has yet to be released to the public, the Malibu/Lost Hills Sheriff’s Department confirmed the coroner’s officer has produced a positive ID of the body. Although the man’s name can not be released at this time, initial reports indicate that he was a frequent transient in the Malibu area have been confirmed.

The man, found wearing black tennis shoes, cargo shorts, and a plaid shirt was carrying a bus pass at the time of his discovery.
