HOLLYWOOD HILLS—A body was found on Tuesday, November 29 in a parking lot structure near an apartment complex in Hollywood Hills by the edge of Studio City. The police arrived in the 3600 block Barham Boulevard around 1:30 p.m., the Los Angeles Police Department noted.

According to reports, sounds of multiple gunshots were followed by a woman screaming. Authorities have ruled the crime a homicide and an investigation is ongoing.

The victim has been described as a middle-aged Hispanic male in his early 30s. He was found next to a car. There is no further information on the identification of the body made known at this time.

Earlier this year, Canadian actor Richard Hong was murdered by a homeless man in the region. It was reported that the 41 year-old surfer and actor was renting a house in Hollywood Hills when he was discovered dead on the 6700 block of Milner Avenue in September, less than three miles away from the body found on Tuesday. The complex, previously known as the Oakwood Apartments, is the same location where singer Rick James died in 2004.

Authorities have not yet released the name of the victim and no details on the cause of death have been disclosed to the public. The LAPD Robbery-Homicide Division is investigating the case.
