GLENDALE—An Altadena woman died after being involved in a two-car accident with a big rig truck on May 11 on the 2 Freeway in Glendale. According to the Los Angeles Times, the victim has been identified as Celeste Milby, 69, of Altadena.

According to the California Highway Patrol, Milby was driving a 2004 Acura when she was attempting to exit the freeway in Glendale when she struck the 2012 Peterbilt big rig. Authorities are unsure how fast she was driving, but the victim was attempting to take the Mountain Street exit when the crash occurred.

According to reports, the big rig was traveling at about 55 mph in the fifth traffic lane. Officials are still investigating how the two vehicles collided. The collision spanned the width of the entire freeway before both vehicles crashed into the freeway center divider.

Milby was transported to nearby Huntington Memorial Hospital, where she succumbed to injuries she sustained. The case is still under investigation by the CHP.
