HOLLYWOOD—For the second consecutive weekend a comic book character ruled supreme at the box-office. “Deadpool,” the pouty-mouthed anti-superhero flick dominated theaters adding another $55 million to its tally. In less than 10 days, the movie has earned over $235 million domestically. Yes, that a major number for a flick that is R-rated. It doesn’t hurt that globally the film is less than $10 million from crossing the $500 million mark.

Landing in second place is the animated flick “Kung Fu Panda 3” with $12.5 million. After close to a month in theaters the third chapter in the franchise has grossed over $117 million at the domestic box-office. Nabbing third place was the religion-laced movie “Risen” starring Joseph Fiennes with $11.3 million.

The horror flick “The Witch” debuted in fourth place with $8.69 million. The new thriller is being pegged as one of the scariest flicks in ages. Hmm, guess the box-office numbers will determine if the flick has weight in the coming weeks. If the buzz is a good, we’ll see the numbers continue to increase.

Rounding out the top five was the romantic comedy “How to Be Single” with $8.2 million. I’m starting to suspect “Deadpool” might win the box-office for the third consecutive weekend, unless “Gods of Egypt” can find a way to wow moviegoers.
