HOLLYWOOD—On Sunday night, “Dexter” was exciting right out of the starting gate, but the ending really put viewers on notice for what is obviously the best season of the series thus far. Bobby Head, a longtime fan of the series said, “Dexter and Lumen! Terrific. I want them together and I think it just may happen. What a perfect pair. This could actually be Dexter’s soul mate.” The episode started as the Miami PD continued their stakeout of the club in the Venezuelan-district of the city, where the team was trying to catch the brothers who have been decapitating citizens and have become serial killer suspects. However, in a crash that changed Lumen’s life, a driver was seen being hit by another vehicle and that was the beginning of what turned into a break in the case for Dexter and Lumen, to find the men involved in her kidnapping and rape.

When Deb told the dispatcher at the police station, “Why me? I don’t do vehicle accidents,” we didn’t know what it was leading up to. However, once Dexter and the team were on scene, we then saw five female dead bodies splattered over the interstate. Someone had decided to remove the barrels with the dead women in them, that Dexter had previously found in the swamp and the accident created new suspects for the detectives. There were fingerprints in the truck, there was also a wallet under the seat.

Lumen arrived at the crime scene, but Dexter forced her to return to his home and wait for him. Quinn found himself being extorted for more money from the criminal he’d hired to investigate and follow Dexter. During a break-in by Dexter of one of the suspect’s home, Lumen saved Dexter from a man who had been following him and was about to enter the house that Dexter had already broken into and entered.

The Lt. made a deadly mistake by pushing the decoys during the stakeout too far. Two innocent women ended up dead, but she refused to see that it was her mistakes which caused the deaths. This mistake will also cause her problems in her marriage, which is more exciting material for the subplots that exist in this fascinating series.

By the end of the episode, two men, including the leader of the group that kidnapped Lumen and raped her, and who killed at least five other women were evident to the viewers and to Dexter himself. Though, the real shocker was seeing Dexter move back into his home that he shared with his late wife Rita, and handing his beautiful son Harrison over to Lumen. Are they a new family, as reader and viewer Bobby Head suspects? Next week we’ll find out.

Dexperts on Facebook had varying opinions about tonight’s episode titled “Circle Us.” Tico Vilarioo said, “I believe Lumen isn’t as inexperienced as she leads on. I think there’s a deeper darker secret and I believe it’s not going to benefit Dexter at all.” “This is one of the best episodes I have ever seen. Loving this season so far,” concluded Jeremy Dionajkowski.

“Dexter” airs Sunday nights at 9 p.m. on Showtime.
