STUDIO CITY—DJ Calvin Harris, whose real name is Adam Wiles, was involved in a head-on collision in Studio City on Friday, May 20, leaving him, a teenage girl and several others injured.

According to reports, the DJ was headed towards the airport when a red Volkswagen Bug crossed the divider, slamming into the black Cadillac SUV that Harris was riding passenger in.

At approximately 11 p.m. in the 3500 block of Coldwater Canyon, the Volkswagen, which was filled with five teens, nearly slammed into Coldwater Mountain.

According to TMZ, who first broke the news, the driver, a 16-year-old-girl, was speeding when she lost control of her vehicle – she jerked the wheel but overcompensated, crashing into the SUV. A female teen who was sitting on another passengers lap was ejected from the vehicle, and suffered a broken pelvis.

Harris received a laceration to the face, which prompted emergency responders to transport him to Providence Saint Joseph Medical Center in Burbank. He was released a short time later.

Harris canceled his Friday night gig at Omnia nightclub in Las Vegas and his slot as headliner at the Hangout Music Festival in Gulf Shores, Alabama, Saturday night; Panic! At the Disco has been scheduled to fill his spot at the festival.

A spokeswoman for Harris stated, “Adam was examined by doctors and sustained a number of injuries. He has been advised to rest for a few days. He has since been checked out of hospital and is now recovering. We wish all the other passengers involved in the incident a fast recovery.”

Harris will return to playing live this week on May 26 at his next scheduled show at Hakkasan, a Las Vegas nightclub – followed by a performance at Omina nightclub on Friday.
