HOLLYWOOD—Well November kicked off in an epic way at the box-office people, and I mean epic. The marvel superhero flick “Doctor Strange,” yes, he is indeed a character people, brought the box-office down with a gigantic $85 million haul during its opening weekend. The buzz for the flick was big, but that’s pretty big for November people, just saying. It has already earned a worldwide tally of over $325 million. I’m already making a bold prediction by arguing the film will indeed top the box-office next weekend.

Nabbing second place was the animated flick “Trolls” with a solid $45 million. Looking at box-office receipts for “Trolls” and “Doctor Strange” alone, over $120 million was brought in by those two flicks alone. The drama “Hacksaw Ridge” starring Andrew Garfield and directed by Mel Gibson landed in third place with just under $15 million. Last week’s box-office champion, Tyler Perry’s “Boo! A Madea Halloween” dropped to fourth place with $7.8 million, bringing its domestic box-office total to just over $64 million.

Rounding out the top five was the thriller “Inferno” with $6.2 million. This weekend sees the release of the drama/sci-fi tale “Arrival” starring Amy Adams and Jeremy Renner, and the comedy “Almost Christmas” starring Danny Glover and Mo’nique.
