LOS ANGELES—The Los Angeles Dodgers started off their series against the Atlanta Braves strong with a 6-0 victory on Thursday, October 4.

The Dodgers did not show playoff jitters. In the bottom of the first inning, outfielder Joc Pederson hit a one-run homer down the center. The show continued in the second inning, when Max Muncy hit a three-run homer, down the center again. Pederson and third baseman Justin Turner scored on the play. The score was 4-0.

The game would be stagnant until the 6th inning. The Dodgers added to their lead when Kike Hernandez hit a third home run to the center. In the 8th inning, Yasiel Puig scored a run thanks to a Freese hit.

Pitcher Hyun-Jin Ryu pitched a shutout. The Dodgers had a strong showing, and showed why they are World Series contenders.
