BEVERLY HILLS—This week Canyon News caught up with one of the nation’s most successful and positive figures, who also does his best to improve the lives of others. Dr. Nathanial “Nat” J. Williams, whose wellness workshops have garnered nationwide attention, has just released his seventh self-help book entitled “Attaining Your Personal Best.” This book is one of the best he’s written and offers an in depth view of how anyone at any socioeconomic level can better their life and is filled with directions and incentives for every level of education and station in life.

The man who prides himself on being called a former foster child, who has devoted his career to help others overcome their past and realize their full potential, holds a Doctorate in Education and three additional graduate degrees. He is also a TV talk show host, founder and CEO of eight companies, adjunct professor and an in-demand motivational speaker.

Dr. Nat is always using the motto, “You must get M.A.D. (change your mindset, attitude, and demeanor) in order to attain your personal best.” The book explains how life’s challenging events don’t have to stop us from being who we want to be once we realize what is holding us back. The book is easy to read, it’s engaging and spells out every step the reader must take in order to attain his/her own best.

Subjects covered include transparency versus conspiracy, needs versus wants, becoming different, solutions/supports, choices and options, fear, enthusiasm, reframing challenging life events, information without heightened emotions, empowerment, legitimacy and urgency and aspiring associations/role models. The book features vivid graphics and worksheets.

Dr. Williams is currently working with Armed Forces Entertainment on an overseas tour to share his expertise with military personnel and their families in February 2011 in celebration of Black History Month.

Williams’s focus is on helping individuals, schools and companies empower the “whole person.” “A strong effort is made not to leave any part of a person behind, personal or professional. A person must be made whole before we can attain our personal best,” Dr. Williams says. More information can be found at drnatwilliams.com.
