MALIBU—During an overnight checkpoint on January 16 and January 17 in Malibu, a motorist was arrested on suspicion of drunk driving, while seven vehicles were impounded for 30 days.

Sixteen unlicensed drivers were arrested and sent to court and eight drivers with suspended licenses were arrested as well.

According to Sgt. Daniel A. Dail, the checkpoint occurred at Pacific Coast Highway and Webb Way, between 7 p.m. Friday to 3 a.m. the following morning.

Two motorists were cited and released for misdemeanor traffic warrants, one motorist was arrested and booked for a misdemeanor arrest warrant and another motorist was arrested for allowing an unlicensed driver to drive.
