MELROSE—A gas station employee was found wounded after three suspects beat him and shot him with a BB gun before stealing a 12-pack of beer on Wednesday, September 26.

According to reports, the robbery took place at around 5 p.m. at an Arco gas station located at the corner of Melrose and Western Avenues. Surveillance video from the gas station shows a woman walking inside the store and running off with a case a beer. The employee is then seen running after her and bringing back the case of beer inside the store.

The female suspect re-enters the store and starts punching the employee and  throwing the victim on the ground. Another man walks into the store and shoots the employee four times with a BB gun. After being shot, the female suspect stomped the victim and the pair ran out of the store with the beer.

Officers from the Los Angeles Police Department and paramedics from the Los Angeles Fire Department arrived on the scene to treat the wounded victim. He was conscious and breathing, but was transported to a local hospital to receive treatment for his injuries.

ABC 7 News reported that the owner of the store spoke to reporters about the incident indicating he did not understand why the suspects did this to his employee, but said [the employee] is expected to make a full recovery.
