WESTWOOD—On Tuesday, December 29, at around 6:45 a.m., a fire at a two-story Westwood commercial building located on 10537 West Santa Monica Blvd., was reported to the Los Angeles Fire Department.

The LAFD confirmed via Twitter that smoke was visible over the parking area of the building.

According to a news alert from LAFD Public Information Director Peter Sanders, the bulk of the fire was quickly extinguished, but fire did remain in the walls and floor on the second story. A total of 58 firefighters reported to the scene and were able to knockdown the fire within 46 minutes.

No injuries were reported as stated by the Los Angeles Fire Department.

Canyon News reached out to LAFD’s Public Information Officer Margaret Stewart who confirmed that the cause of the fire is currently under investigation by LAFD Arson.
