MALIBU—Five people were transported to a hospital following a head-on crash in an unincorporated Malibu area. The incident transpired on Sunday, August 5 near Malibu Canyon Road near Piuma Road.

According to City News Service, the crash was reported at 8 p.m. Officials from the California Highway Patrol indicated that a witness reported the crash involving a Kia and Ford Mustang. Before the crash, the driver of the Ford Mustang was indicated to have been driving recklessly.

The Los Angeles County Fire Department arrived on the scene and treated the five people injured, one who required transportation to a hospital via helicopter. The names of the individuals injured in the crash have not been disclosed to the public.
