WESTWOOD—A former UCLA associate athletic director entered a plea of no contest in court on Monday, July 21 to one misdemeanor count of possession of child pornography. On April 24, 2013, Michael Sondheimer, 59, was found in possession of child pornography on a work-related laptop computer.

Deputy District Attorney Samer Hathout of the High Tech Crime Division said Sondheimer was instantly sentenced to three years summary probation. In addition, the suspect has to register as a sex offender for the rest of his life.

According to a press release from the Los Angeles District Attorney’s Office, Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Shelly Torrealba of the Foltz Criminal Justice Center ordered the suspect to attend sex offender counseling for one year and to hand over his computer containing the illegal images.

The case was investigated by the University of California Police Department.
