BRENTWOOD—The Brentwood Fourth of July Firework Show will be returning this year after a two-year hiatus.

For over 20 years, the Independence Day celebration has been attracting thousands of viewers to Rockingham County Complex and this year will be no exception thanks to Michael Esters and his family’s fundraising efforts.

The show’s absence was in large part due to the lack of volunteers willing to raise money for the annual festivities.

Michael Ester, his wife, Kim and their three kids Emily, Amanda and Matthew combined their efforts to raise awareness and plan several different fundraisers. They raised close to $8,000.

The first Brentwood firework show began in 1992 at the town’s 250th anniversary.
