HOLLYWOOD—The latest installment of the “Fast and Furious” franchise, “Furious 7,” surpassed the popular Disney film “Frozen” becoming the fourth-highest grossing movie of all time.

The film made approximately $18.26 million this past weekend and more than $1.348 billion worldwide since it debuted at the beginning of the month.

The 2012 film “The Avengers” ranks third place on the list with a total of $1.518 billion, while the 1997 film “Titanic” comes in second place on the list with a total of $2.186 billion. The 2009 film “Avatar” has made a total of $2.788 billion becoming the highest grossest film of all time.

The franchise is expected to continue with “Furious 8” It has been scheduled to hit theaters on April 14, 2017.
