HOLLYWOOD—Like I said, “Furious 7” would be impossible to stop at the box-office, and my predictions are correct. The race-heist topped the box-office for the third consecutive week with an additional $29 million. The movie has now crossed the $1 billion mark in global receipts at the box office. On the domestic front, the movie is only a few mere millions from $300 million.

Nabbing the #2 spot was the comedy “Paul Blart: Mall Cop 2” which earned $24 million in its first week. The sequel did not outdo its predecessor which earned over $40 million in its opening weekend in 2009.  Horror impressed movie lovers as “Unfriended” earned $16 million. An impressive debut for a movie that only cost $1 million to produce; I’d say it’s safe to say that a sequel is likely in the works.

“Home” continued to impress moviegoers with another $10.3 million to land in the #4 spot. While the top five was rounded out with the romance “The Longest Ride” which earned $6.8 million. I’d say it’s say to say that “Furious 7” will end the month of April on top, as this week’s debuts from “The Age of Adaline” will have no chance against the franchise.
