Gas Station Robbed On Melrose Avenue

MELROSE—Detectives from the Los Angeles Police Department’s Rampart Area are asking for the public’s help in locating a suspect who robbed a gas station.

According to the LAPD Blog, on Monday, November 27, at around 7:55 a.m., a takeover robbery transpired the gas station located in the 4500 block of Melrose Avenue. The armed suspect entered the business and pretended to purchase cigarettes, and when he was about to give the money to the cashier, the suspect removed a handgun from his pocket and pointed it demanding money from the cash register. The cashier handed the suspect the money, who later fled the scene running eastbound on Melrose Avenue.

The suspect is described as a 35 to 40-year-old Hispanic male. He has wavy long black hair tied in two pony tails. He stands 5 feet and 11inches tall and weighs about 200 pounds. He has a goatee, was wearing prescription glasses and had a wedding band on his left index finger. He was last seen wearing a blue “LA” baseball cap, a blue jacket turned inside out, dark pants and black shoes.
