MALIBU—Malibu Relief, an organization that aims to provide “a bridge for the residents of Malibu to assist those in need within our community,” has begun their “Giving for Thanksgiving” outreach event.

According to their website, “We are now collecting non-perishable food items for a Thanksgiving dinner for families in need within Malibu Schools. Drop boxes are located throughout Malibu at our community partner locations listed below.”

Donations can be given through November 21. Distribution of the food items will take place at the Boys & Girls Club of Malibu on November 25 at 6 p.m.

Last year, nearly 40 families received more than 120 bags of groceries, which were collected by local elementary, middle and high schools.

If you prefer to give money, $25 will provide dinner for one family and Malibu Relief adds that “it is a tax-deductible donation.”

Please make checks payable to Malibu Relief and mail to P.O. Box 901 Malibu, CA 90265. For more information, visit maliburelief.org.
