LOS FELIZ—Los Angeles City Councilmember David Ryu announced this week that the pool at Griffith Park and Pan Pacific Park will remain open for an extra month. Both pools were set to close after Labor Day Weekend, but will have extended summer pool hours that will run until Sunday, September 29.

“Serving the neighborhoods of Council District Four means serving our incredible neighborhood parks, and the individuals and families who enjoy them,” said Councilmember Ryu in a statement. “I believe in the power of parks, and by keeping our pools open, we are providing more recreation and more low-cost resources to countless kids and families to enjoy.”

The cost to keep the pools open is estimated at $59,131. Ryu is utilizing the discretionary fund from Council District Four to transfer the funds to the Department of Recreation and Parks to cover the cost.
