LOS ANGELES—The day when the whole band of Guns ‘N’ Roses would be intact was a day most fans waited decades for. The constant rumors and false starts finally culminated in the, “Not In This Lifetime Time Tour,” and the wait was worth it. At Dodgers Stadium,  on August 18 and 19, GNR delivered a set that music fans will remember for many years to come.

Axl Rose and Slash played flawlessly, as if they never had broken up. Axl, no longer confined to his throne would run like a madman around the stage – no lingering effects of a broken foot to be seen. For one night, he played center field for the Dodgers. The band opened with “It’s So Easy,” and the best was yet to come.

The band’s jaw-dropping 3-hour set included one hit after another. Including “Welcome To The Jungle,” “You Could Be Mine,” “Sweet Child ‘O’ Mine,” “Mr. Brownstone,” and “November Rain.”

Slash was decked out in his iconic regalia; a Black Top Hat covering his long curly hair a cut off red tee and his custom Gold top Gibson Les Paul guitar. While Bassist Duff McKagan pumped out thunderous bass lines, providing superb background vocals, harmonizing with Axl.

The highlight of this tremendous homecoming was Axl announcing,”Ladies and gentlemen, Mr. Steven Adler.” Adler, GNR’s original drummer got a standing ovation from the adoring crowd, before launching into,”Out Ta Get Me” and “My Michelle.”

These shows were epic, it differed from other reunion tours because of the quality and support of their fan base. The Friday night encore included “Paradise City,” and with the night cooling down at Chavez Ravine, the good music and people for one night it was indeed a little slice of heaven.
