MALIBU—On Sunday, May 26 at 3:30 p.m., a man was injured during a hang glider accident near Pacific Coast Highway. The crash transpired near PCH about half a mile south of Deer Creek Road in Ventura County near the Los Angeles County line. This location is north of the popular Neptune’s Net restaurant.

Officials from the Ventura County Fire Department and other emergency agencies responded with search and rescue teams to rescue the victim, through the use of heavy equipment. Images from the scene depicted several firefighters freeing the man from his hang glider.

The victim sustained mild injuries from the crash where he was treated by paramedics before being transported to a local hospital. The incident caused road closures on the southbound lanes of PCH. Officials from the California Highway Patrol directed traffic around the road closures as officials assisted in rescuing the hang glider.
