HOLLYWOOD—Harriet Schock performed in grand style last Thursday night at M Bar in Hollywood. Along with Schock, singer J.D. Hinton also performed. The two set a new bar for the famed dinner theatre venue, and Schock tells Canyon News that she’s very grateful for those who attended. “It was a great night. I’m so sorry you couldn’t make it Tommy, but we were thinking of you. J.D. had never performed at this club before so it was wonderful seeing the audience enjoy him, many of them for the first time,” said the singer.

Harriet is a gold and platinum songwriter and recording artist with seven solo albums. She was Grammy nominated for her hit song “Ain’t No Way To Treat A Lady,” which was sung by Helen Reddy.

Award-winning producer Sally Kellerman, who attended Schock’s performance said, “She is so lovely and charming and so many of her songs had lyrics that touched me so much. I just was welling up with tears. Her humor is so delightful. I saw Harriet one night before, but this was just the full deal, and I could really hear how brilliant she is, and how special she is.” Golden Globe-winner Karen Black tells Canyon News, “Harriet’s songs not only move you to tears, they are also specific, never generic and exquisitely phrased. It is so nice to know what you’re crying about. A beautiful never-to-be-forgotten evening.” As for J.D. Hinton, who was co-billed with Harriet, he’s also an actor as well as a singer/songwriter/film scorer, and a Texas native.

Schock’s busy on new projects.
