STUDIO CITY—The Studio City Neighborhood Council is alerting residents of ways they can assist seniors and kids for the upcoming holidays. The Studio City Chamber, in conjunction with the Sherman Oaks East Valley Adult Center, is once again sponsoring Adopt a Senior for the Holidays, which provides an opportunity for businesses and individuals to make a difference this holiday season by assisting a senior in need, indicated Denise Welvang, President of the Studio City Neighborhood Council in an email to Canyon News.

Many senior citizens in the community are impoverished and alone, and are in need of assistance during the holidays. In 2016, over 200 seniors were adopted! Seniors can be adopted individually, with friends, or through a business or organization. For 2017, the list of seniors has grown to over 300 individuals.

In addition, residents can assist kids by donating to Councilman Paul Krekorian’s Holiday Food and Toy Drive. On Thursday, December 14, participants can donate to Krekorian’s Holiday Food and Toy drive to benefit people in need across Council District 2. Bring one or more items to the First Christian Church located at 4390 Colfax Avenue in Studio City and enjoy free coffee and pastries with the councilman.

Items that can be donated include non-perishable food items such as, canned or boxed foods, packaged snacks or unwrapped new toys. Please RSVP at www.paulkrekorian.org  or call (818) 755-7676 for additional information.
