HOLLYWOOD—Finally, we have a battle at the box-office! After nearly 4 weeks of maintaining a grip on moviegoers, “Rogue One: A Story Wars Story” encountered a formidable foe in the ladies from “Hidden Figures.”

While official numbers have yet to be determined, it appears that “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story” and “Hidden Figures” both tied for the top spot, as of Sunday at the box-office earning over $22 million over the weekend. Well, it’s official, “Hidden Figures” walked away with the win earning $22.8 million, while “Rogue One” earned $22.1 million. The latest entry in the “Star Wars” franchise shouldn’t be disappointed as it’s nearing closer to crossing the $1 billion mark at the global box-office in the coming weeks. Yes, an impressive feat to say the least.

Landing in third place (because first and second are taken), was the animated flick “Sing” which continues to mesmerize audiences taking in over $20.7 million. As predicted last week, the flick has now crossed the $200 million mark at the domestic box-office. Nabbing fourth place was the fifth chapter in the “Underworld” franchise, “Underworld: Blood Wars” with a decent $13.7 million.

Rounding out the top five was the musical “La La Land” with $10.1 million. The musical is indeed becoming a hit with audiences having grossed over $50 million at the domestic box-office. This weekend sees the release of the thriller “The Bye Bye Man” and the Mark Wahlberg drama “Patriots Day.”
