GRIFFITH PARK—The Los Angeles Fire Department rescued a hiker in distress in Griffith Park on Monday, January 25 at approximately 1:51 p.m.

The 28-year-old female victim was injured in rugged terrain near Charlie Turner Trail. Air and ground response teams responded with the LAFD lowering a firefighter to assess the injured hiker and provide pain management, indicated LAFD Spokesperson Erik Scott. Park rangers also assisted in the rescue mission.

The victim whose name has not yet been released to the public suffered a lower extremity injury and was hosted by helicopter for transportation to a local hospital in serious condition to be treated for her injury.
