HOLLYWOOD—On Sunday December 6, Robert John Ryan, 24, was identified by authorities as the pedestrian killed in a hit-and-run collision that took place on the intersection of Ivar Avenue south of Hollywood Boulevard.

According to the Los Angeles Police Department’s blog, West Traffic Division Officers received a radio call around 3:30 a.m. regarding the incident, and arrived to find Ryan lying on the ground.

Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics also responded to the location and pronounced Ryan dead at the scene.

The LAPD blog further notes that the driver of the vehicle fled the scene without identifying his or herself and did not provide any aid to the victim. There is currently no suspect or vehicle description as the investigation continues. No arrests have been made.

Canyon News spoke to LAPD’s Public Information Office Drake Madison in regards to updates related to the suspect or the vehicle description. Madison noted that there is nothing new to the investigation that could be reported to the public.

West Traffic Division Detectives are asking for the public’s assistance to provide any information that would lead to the identification and arrest of the suspect involved in the hit and run collision.
