HOLLYWOOD—Karapet Kirpichyan, 46, of North Hollywood, was sentenced on Friday, June 28, for driving a stolen vehicle in a dangerous manner midst a police pursuit early this year the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office announced.

Kirpichyan was penalized with four years and eight months in state prison under the terms of a plea deal by Los Angeles County Superior Court Commissioner Kristi Lousteau.

He pleaded no contest to the charges against him on April 24 that included one felony count each of assault with a deadly weapon, a vehicle, and driving or taking a vehicle without consent. He also took responsibility to an allegation of a previous felony conviction of driving or taking a vehicle without permission.

On January 9, Kirpichyan fled from officers in a stolen van in Van Nuys. While attempting to flee, he crashed into multiple vehicles before proceeding to a stop near a curb in Hollywood. The case was investigated by the Los Angeles Police Department.
