BENEDICT CANYON—The home of legendary rocker and KISS frontman Gene Simmons was reportedly searched by detectives from the Los Angeles Police Department’s Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force on Thursday, August 21.

The detectives were acting on a search warrant for Simmons’ home located at 2650 Benedict Canyon Drive looking for evidence of child porn. According to TMZ, someone downloaded child porn utilizing one of the computers or internet access, but authorities do not suspect Simmons or anyone from his family to be suspects or persons of interests. Simmons was away on tour when the downloads occurred.

According to reports, the family was cooperative with authorities while they issued the search warrant.

Since the investigation is ongoing, authorities have been unable to give details on its nature. The Simmons family has not provided any additional comments to the media or public.

Gene Simmons has lived on the property for nearly 30 years, since purchasing it back in 1986. The current 4-bedroom, 6-bathroom home he and his family has resided in in was built in 2000.

The neighborhood where Simmons lives is also a region where celebrities like Eddie Murphy, original “Superman” actor George Reeves, Mickey Rourke, Ingrid Bergman, and, for a brief period in 1965, The Beatles lived.

The 65-year-old rocker is looking to kick off the start of a concert tour with KISS this October. They are expected to play throughout various arenas in Australia and New Zealand.
