SANTA MONICA—The Santa Monica headquarters for Hulu, which the company moved to in 2013, received a $40 million upgrade that was unveiled to the public on Wednesday, June 19. The office park occupied at Colorado Center in Santa Monica is close to the Expo Line’s Bergamot Station.

Boston Properties real estate purchased half of the Colorado Center in 2016, for its Los Angeles market. The plaza and food hall will serve both Bird and Kite Pharma and was unveiled to the general public. There were newly finished streetscape enhancements to the Santa Monica Business Park, which also accommodates Snap and Activision Blizzard, following obtaining it last summer.

“The problem is it wasn’t at all inviting. Our goal was to make it an activated space for both our tenants and the public” said the President of Boston Properties to the Santa Monica Daily Press about the Colorado Center.

The public and the office park’s employees will have access to the outdoor areas which includes a fire pit, seating with power vents, and shaded wooden decks. Available to the community and non-profits at no cost are the basketball courts, tennis courts, and the community center at the Colorado Center’s Park.

The Colorado Center is an urban creative office that is comprised of six buildings and approximately 1,184,339 rentable square feet, including a three-level, underground parking garage with 3,100 stalls, notes Boston Properties on its website.

Colorado Center is a premier office campus with a large amenity base and open outdoor space located in the Santa Monica office market, that has a large presence of technology, media, advertising and entertainment tenants in Los Angeles.

The campus sits on a 15-acre site in the Media and Entertainment District of Santa Monica, and it is one block north of the Bergamot Station of Los Angeles County’s new Light Rail service connecting Colorado Center to downtown Santa Monica and Downtown Los Angeles.
