HOLLYWOOD—“The Bold and the Beautiful” is taking the soap to new heights with the possibility that famed Forrester, Ridge (Thorsten Kaye) might be lost at sea.  It is indeed an interesting plotline that has fans on the edge of their seats, where the question of what really transpired is still a guessing game for all involved.

The entire melee was orchestrated by the wickedly deceptive Quinn (Rena Sofer), who has been a treat to love and hate on the soap. She has her devious ways and some would say is the epitome of a great villain at its core. She has very little remorse to anything that she does, unless it has a backlash on her precious Wyatt (Darin Brooks).

Quinn has this need to meddle in her son’s impending relationship with Hope (Kim Matula) who is torn between Wyatt and Liam (Scott Clifton). I’ll admit this circus involving this love-triangle is never ending, so it would be nice to see Hope, Liam or Wyatt make a choice and stick with it for Christ sake. In the soap world, this never happens a love triangle can last for years or until someone bite’s the dust.

Back to Ridge, Quinn decided in an effort to get Bill (Don Diamont) to come running back to her, she should send a photo of her tryst with him to Ridge in hopes that he would travel half way across the world to halt his wedding to Brooke (Katherine Kelly-Lang). Guess what it worked. Ridge practically told Katie (Heather Tom) their relationship was not as solidified as she thought because he jetted a plane to convince his one true love marrying Bill was a mistake.

Would he make it in time? Yep, and he took off with the expected bride who has the worse luck when it comes to weddings. They boarded a helicopter, where Ridge fell to a watery grave. No body has been found which means he’s still alive or in the soap world expect the unexpected. Let’s just say Bill and Brooke aren’t telling the whole story, and it appears Katie and Eric (John McCook) plan to get to the bottom of things.

So how does Quinn tie into all of this, well fingers are being pointed and this woman is on everyone’s hit list and I mean everyone. For the first-time EVER, Hope unleashed a bit of anger on the mother of the guy she loves and it was so exhilarating to watch Matula take her character to such a vulnerable place. It led to a battle royal where Wyatt finally decided to unleash a punch to Liam’s face and Hope realized that the man for her is Liam? I know what the audience is thinking, “Here we go again.”

Quinn and Wyatt are on pins and needles as they come to realize their time at Forrester Creations might be over. Can’t say the audience isn’t happy to see Quinn get a taste of her own medicine. What goes around comes around.

I have this inkling that when Ridge does come to, he’s going to suffer some amnesiac episode where he’s fallen head over heels for Katie or Brooke is once again the love of his life. He will resurface in due time I hope, I mean the character was already missing in action on the series for nearly a year, so to kill him off so soon would be a travesty, but at the same time an epic surprise for the audience. If you’ve missed “B&B” now is the time to watch. “The Bold and the Beautiful” airs weekdays at 1:30 p.m. on CBS.
