WEST HOLLYWOOD—On April 17, fitness expert Jacqueline Renee Waddell, 48, was charged with felony assault on a police officer, a misdemeanor DUI and a misdemeanor hit and run.

On February 24, Waddell was reportedly driving under the influence and crashed into an electrical pole near Holloway Drive and Hacienda Place in West Hollywood. After crashing, Waddell left the scene of the accident and drove to a nearby convenience store. While at the store, a Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Deputy attempted to detain Waddell which resulted in her allegedly reversing her car toward the deputy before crashing into the patrol car.

According to a press release from the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office, Waddell of West Hollywood faces one felony count of assault upon a peace officer and one misdemeanor count each of driving under the influence of an alcoholic beverage, driving with a .08 percent blood alcohol content and hit-and-run driving resulting in property damage.

She is scheduled to return to the Los Angeles County Superior Court on May 16 for further action. Her attorney, Shawn Holly, spoke to E! News.

Holly stated, “We have letters and reports from Jackie’s doctors which prove a long history of insomnia and which is strongly supports our contention that Jackie was driving unconscious after taking Ambien, which had been prescribed to her. I reached out to the D.A’s Office weeks ago and was assured that deputies would review our reports before filing charges, but the office filed without reviewing our evidence.”

Jacqueline Waddell, also known as Jackie Warner, is best known for her fitness show on Bravo, “Work Out.” She has also starred in “The Out 100” and “Killinaskully.”
