HOLLYWOOD HILLS—Actor/screenwriter Jason Jordan Segel has just purchased his third home in Hollywood Hills for $1.4 million.

According to public records, the 35-year-old “Freaks and Geeks” actor purchased the house from Time magazine columnist Joel Stein, who acquired the property for $1.13 million in 2005.

The late 1930’s bungalow’s four bedrooms and three bathrooms is included in its 1,816 square feet of living space. The two-story home features an upper level living room with a domed, exposed wood ceiling and a next-door dining room with access to a sunlit terrace with “over-the-treetop,” sweeping canyon views.

The property’s location, set at the end of a narrow, twisting cul-de-sac above Bronson Canyon, in addition to its thick outdoor flora and foliage, which includes mature banana trees and bamboo, will offer Segel complete privacy.

Segel, who also starred in the comedy films, “Forgetting Sarah Marshall” and “I Love You, Man,” owns two other neighboring properties (with a combined value of $4.1 million) just above the Chateau Marmont, north of Sunset Boulevard.
