MALIBU—Joanna Gaines, the star of HGTV’s “Fixer Upper” is helping actress, singer and dancer Jennifer Lopez and boyfriend, and former MLB star Alex Rodriguez remodel their newly acquired Malibu beach front home.
Lopez expressed her admiration for the designer on “Ellen” stating: “I’m obsessed with “Fixer Upper.” And we actually got a ‘fixer upper’ by the water. And I was like, wouldn’t it be amazing to have [Joanna] do our house?”
Joanna and Chip Gaines ended their show in November 2018, but signed a deal with Discovery for streaming a video channel that will now focus heavily on their Magnolia brand, which is being sold at Target stores.
According to House Beautiful, it was Rodriguez who arranged the call between his girlfriend and Gaines to convince reality TV start to work on the Malibu property. Gaines and Lopez were recently spotted by TMZ outside of the Malibu property. Lopez is currently serving as a judge on the reality-competition series “World of Dance” which airs on NBC.
