BEVERLY HILLS—On Friday, September 24, Lindsay Lohan was detained at the Beverly Hills courthouse. Prior to the hearing, Lohan had admitted on her Twitter page that she had failed one of her court mandated bi-weekly drug tests.  The tests are a main component of her probation and as a result of this recent failure, the actress will remain in jail until another hearing on October 22. Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Elden S. Foxrefused to set bail, and after the hearing, which lasted approximately 10 minutes, bailiffs ushered Lohan out of the courtroom. She was then taken tothe Century Regional Detention Center in Lynwood.

Earlier this summer, the struggling actress was sent to jail for violating her probation from a 2007 DUI case.  Despite her 90-day sentence, Lohan served 14 days and was released on August 2.  Following her release, she entered a rehabilitation program at UCLA Medical Center where she was ordered to complete a three-month stay.  However, as with her time in jail, Lohan was released early on August 26 after her doctors agreed that she did not need to be there.

As a condition of her release and under the guidance of Judge Fox, Lohan was ordered to complete outpatient counseling.  She was also mandated to perform drug tests twice a week.  After less than a month out of the drug treatment program, she failed one of her tests and will now face the legal consequences.

Taking to her Twitter page to admit her slip-up or “setback” as she calls it, the actress states that she is taking responsibility for her mistake and is now taking tests every day. She acknowledges her disease and thanks those who have stood by her: “I am so thankful for the support of my fans, loved ones and immediate family, who understand that I am trying hard, but also that I am a work in progress, just as anyone else.”
