HOLLYWOOD HILLS—Keya Morgan, the man accused of abusing Stan Lee, pled not guilty  in June. Morgan was arrested on June 11 for filing a false police report. He is also being investigated for elderly abuse. According to the police report, Morgan allegedly claimed that authorities administering a welfare check on Lee were burglars. Keya Morgan, 42, is a memorabilia collector and friend of Lee.

Lee filed a restraining order against Morgan on July 6, TMZ reported. The restraining order claimed that Morgan mishandled over $5 million dollars of Lee’s funds. This is the second restraining order that Lee filed against Morgan. The first one was nullified, since it was filed by Tom Lallas, who is no longer an attorney of Stan Lee.

Before there were claims of Morgan abusing Lee, there were claims that Morgan, Lee’s daughter J.C, her lawyer Kirk Schenk, and a man named Jerardo ‘Jerry’ Olivarez were abusing the Marvel icon.

The Hollywood Reporter posted a video Morgan recorded of Lee on April 10. In the video, Lee called the document regarding his abuse, “inaccurate, misleading, and insulting.” He continued saying, “My relationship with my daughter has never been better, and my friend Keya Morgan also and I have a great relationship, and anybody who is saying anything negative about us, or about them suing me, is just spreading lies.”

Attorney Lallas published the file claiming elderly abuse. He was later fired by Lee. The document that Lee was referencing accused Morgan, Schenk, and Olivarez of keeping Lee isolated from his family and friends.

In a video that Lee sent to TMZ on April 12, he said, “If you don’t stop these articles and publish retractions, I am going to sue your ass off.” Lee called the articles accusing Morgan of abusing him, “hateful,” “harmful,” “incorrect” and “totally based on slander.”

Stan Lee stated in a video on his Twitter page that, “I have only one partner, one person that comes to represent me, and that is Keya Morgan.” This video was recorded on June 10.

Morgan tweeted on June 16, “For over 10 years I have shown nothing but love, respect & kindness to Stan Lee, & his wife, a fact he has repeated countless time [sic]. I have NEVER EVER abused my dear friend. Everything you read in the #FakeNews is pure malicious lies & I will 100% prove it. The truth will come out.”

According to reports, the relationship between Lee, Morgan, his daughter, and her lawyer grew complicated After Lee’s wife of 69 years died in July 2017, according to reports. Lee has battled pneumonia this past year. At 95, he is also facing declining hearing and vision. He recently made cameo appearances in the Marvel films, “Avengers: Infinity War” and “Ant-Man and The Wasp.”
