GRIFFITH PARK—The L.A. Zoo Lights Show is ongoing at Griffith Park until January 3.

While the show features self-guided 60 to 90-minute animal themed LED light shows, the whole family can get a picture with Santa and his reindeer, and enjoy hot cocoa and other holiday treats.

The show is open to the public, rain or shine, weekdays from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. on weekends. Parking is free.

Weekday entry is $13 for adults 13 years of age and older, $11 for children ages 2-11, and children under 2 receive free admission. Late night special is $9 for entry at 9 p.m.

Weekend prices are raised $3 per age group, with no late night special available.

Tickets may be purchased online or at the gate. Tickets are timed in order to control capacity. Visitors must select an entrance time when making their purchase, and need to arrive at the park within an hour of that time.

This year there is also a Family New Year’s Eve Event scheduled for December 31 starting at 6 p.m.

General tickets for this special event are $65 for adults and $40 for children. Members receive a $5 discount on the price of admission.

Price includes expedited admission to the lights show, dinner buffet including soft drinks and dessert, crafts, a carousel ride, entertainment provided by a DJ, live broadcast of Times Square ball drop, and a champagne toast for the adults. There is also a cash bar available.

Visit the LA Zoo Lights site for the full dinner menu, and additional information.
