MEMPHIS, TN──The Los Angeles Lakers lost their second straight game, falling to the Memphis Grizzlies 103-100 on Saturday, December 3.

Lou Williams scored a season high 40 points off of the bench. Luol Deng had 18 points and five rebounds; Timofey Mozgov added 13 points and five rebounds.

Julius Randle had a chance to tie the game as he was fouled by Mark Gasol while attempting a 3-pointer, but missed all three free throws. Los Angeles has now lost two of their last three games.

“They made the little plays,” said Lakers head coach Luke Walton after the game. “Down the stretch they got a couple of loose balls that they turned into big plays.”

Troy Daniels scored a team high 31 points for the Grizzlies, who won their second consecutive game.

“I was just taking what the defense gave me,” Daniels said. “My teammates helped me get into those spots.”

Mark Gasol had 19 points, eight assists and three rebounds while Tony Allen contributed eight points, nine rebounds and three assists.

Memphis is now 13-8 overall and will have a one game road trip against the New Orleans Pelicans on Monday, December 5.

The Lakers are 10-12 on the season and will return home to play the Utah Jazz in their next game on Monday, December 5.
