SHERMAN OAKS — On Wednesday, July 1 at around 3:15 p.m., an injury report involving an LAPD officer was made.

The collision took place around the area of the intersection of Deerhorn Drive and Woodcliff Road. The LAPD officer was responding to a barricade situation in Sherman Oaks that authorities originally believed to be a traffic collision.

The incident occurred as six bicycle officers were leaving the Sherman Oaks barricade situation. The officer who was injured lost control of his bike after running into another officer’s bicycle while traveling down a steep hill on Deerhorn Drive.

According to reports, the officer was reported to have been knocked unconscious from the fall. He was first treated by first responders, who appeared to have treated the his head with gauze. He was then taken to the hospital, where he was treated for head, arm, and knee injuries.
