LAPD Searching For Pick Pocket Suspects

HOLLYWOOD—Detectives from the Los Angeles Police Department’s Hollywood Area (HED) are asking for the public’s help in identifying two “Theft from Person” suspects.

According to the LAPD Blog, on Sunday, August 27, between the hours of 2:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m., two theft from person incidents transpired. The first incident took place on Sycamore Street, just north of Hollywood Boulevard, and the second transpired at the corner of Franklin Street and Orchid Avenue in the Hollywood Area. Police reported that the victims targeted were 20 and 71-years-old.

In both incidents, two suspects approached the victims from behind and tossed an unknown type of liquid on the back of their clothing. The suspects approached the victims to tell them they have bird feces on their clothing. The suspects, appearing concerned, inform the victims that they will help wipe and clean them off. During the exaggerated wipe down by both suspects, one suspect removes a wallet from one victim. A camera was removed from a back pack from the second victim in a separate incident. Both suspects left the scene of each incident in a Nissan Rogue, with white paper plates, being driven by a third suspect and fled in an unknown direction.

The first suspect is described as a 30 to 40-year-old Hispanic male with black hair and brown eyes. He stands 5 foot and 7 inches tall and weighs approximately 180 pounds. He was last seen wearing a blue shirt, dark shorts and black tennis shoes with white soles. The second suspect is described as a 35 to 40-year-old Hispanic female with black hair. She stands 5 feet and 8 inches tall and weighs 170 to180 pounds. She was last seen wearing a black floppy hat, black flower shirt, black pants and black shoes. A third suspect is also involved in the thefts, but no description of that individual is available.
