HOLLYWOOD—Rarely does a film continue domination at the box-office, unless it’s a stellar picture.  Disney’s “Frozen” is proving to be a powerhouse at the multiplex claiming the top spot this week with $20.7 million. The picture which was released right before the Thanksgiving holiday has already reached over $600 million worldwide.  Domestically the animated feature has earned just a mere $3 million from the $300 million mark.

Taking the #2 spot was the horror flick “Paranormal Activity: The Marked Ones” taking in $18.2 million. This fifth entry into the franchise definitely spooked audiences this weekend. “The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug” came in at #3 with $16.3 million, bringing its domestic total close to $230 million. Martin Scorsese’s decisive “The Wolf of Wall Street” continues to intrigue audiences landing at the #4 spot with a $13.4 million gross.

Currently, the picture has amounted more than $63 million at the box-office and is sure to bring in more revenue with awards season right around the corner. Another awards favorite, “American Hustle” took the fifth spot with $13.2 million. The ”˜comedy’ is a sure-fire bet to cross the $100 million mark by the end of the week. This week moviegoers will see the release of the war film “Lone Survivor.”
