Malibu Canyon Wreck Kills Bay Area Man

MALIBU—A Bay Area man was killed after he lost control of his 1998 Porsche while driving near the Malibu canyon on Sunday, February 15.

Driving on the Westbound segment of Piuma Road, near Las Virgenes Road, 22-year old Wing Hay Tang lost control of his vehicle and careened off the side of the road, plunging approximately 100 feet to the canyon bellow.

Tang was reportedly speeding at the time of his crash into Malibu canyon.

Tang, the only person in the vehicle, was not traveling alone. Friends driving in separate vehicles pulled over, and called 911 for assistance.

Paramedics travelled by way of helicopter to the bottom of the canyon where the car had landed on its roof. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

Initial investigation suggests that Tang was speeding when we lost control of his vehicle. No other drivers were involved in the accident.
