MALIBU—The City of Malibu is inviting residents to attend the public watershed workshop and participate in the creation of new projects. The event will be held on Thursday, May 14.

The workshop will focus on projects for the Enhanced Watershed Management Programs (EWMPs) for both Malibu Creek Watershed and Santa Monica Bay Coastal Watersheds.

Local public agencies encourage attendance in order to learn about the Watershed Management Programs and to provide feedback. The overall goal of the workshop is to better protect and improve water quality for the area through projects aimed at: Non-Stormwater Runoff Prevention, Stormwater Runoff Prevention, Pollution Prevention, Flood Control, and Water Supply.

Under the Los Angeles County Municipal Stormwater Discharge Permit, permittees may utilize programs to meet permit requirements on watershed-scale. The Enhanced Watershed Management Programs aim to help implement these permit requirements.

The event will be held at 26800 West Mulholland Hwy, Calabasas, CA 91302. The workshop is at King Gillette Ranch from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
