SHERMAN OAKS—A man was pronounced dead on Friday, March 25 when his car collided into a parked semi-truck on the 405 Freeway in the Sherman Oaks region. The crash resulted in a SigAlert and the closure of the two far left lanes.

The crash happened around 7:25 a.m. on the northbound 405 near the 101 freeway, according to ariels from Sky5 of KTLA. This stretch of road borders Sherman Oaks and Van Nuys.

The roof of the driver’s vehicle appeared to be completely crushed after the collision and the victim driving the car died at the scene. No other passengers were reported inside the vehicle.

According to the Los Angeles Fire Department, no one was inside the big rig when the crash occurred, as it was parked on the shoulder due to mechanical problems.

Reports indicated that traffic was not heavily affected following the crash.
