HOLLYWOOD—The Los Angeles Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance to locate the suspect(s) involved in the shooting death of a young man on May 30. At approximately, 2:01 a.m. LAPD officers assigned to the Hollywood Division were walking a foot beat near Hollywood Boulevard and Las Palmas when they heard what sounded like gunshots.

Authorities checked the area and found a man, lying unconscious. Officers requested assistance from an ambulance where paramedics found a single gun-shot to the man’s chest. He was taken to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

The victim has been described as an African-American male, 28. The name of the victim has not yet been released to the public and authorities have not yet discovered a motive behind the shooting. The investigation is still ongoing.
