HOLLYWOOD HILLS—The 26-year-old victim who was shot and killed on Monday, February 12 in Hollywood Hills was identified by authorities as Yuvini Cortez on Thursday, February 15. He was pronounced dead by paramedics on Monday afternoon at an apartment complex on the 2000 block of North Argyle Avenue.

According to the Los Angeles Police Department West Bureau Homicide Division, Cortez was working at the five-story apartment complex when a man entered the building and shot him once in the torso. The suspect then fled the scene on foot. He is still at large.

Police were alerted to the shooting by other residents of the building who contacted 911 and reported sounds of gunfire. Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics responded to the scene and pronounced Cortez dead shortly after arriving.

The suspect is described as a Hispanic male around 30-years-old. At the time of the shooting, he was wearing a blue jacket with brown pants.
