LOS ANGELES—Metro Bike Share accounts are now being managed through TAP. TAP is the reusable card that allows for multi-modal transit. It can be used to pay for bus, bike and rail trips, as well as other transit programs throughout Los Angeles County. The card can now be used for Metro Bike Shar. Patrons will no longer need separate accounts and can use one TAP account for all their transit needs.

Transit users will need to make sure that their TAP card is registered on taptogo.net. New users can create an account through the website. If an account is already in use, the patron can still enroll in the Metro Bike Share program via the website.

Customers will have the ability to sign up for the new, affordable bike share pass. Once logged in on taptogo.net, select ‘Programs’ and Metro Bike Share. Select to enroll in a Monthly Pass and at checkout enter the promo code BIKESONTAP for a free Monthly Pass. The free pass is offered to make the transition to TAP easier for new and existing riders.

In addition to the free monthly pass, Metro Bike Share is lowering the cost of their Annual Pass, a 26 percent discount off of the previous standard monthly rate. The pass will now cost $150 a year, or $12.50 a month.

By bringing Metro Bike Share onto TAP, future features such as Reduced Fare passes and a rewards system will be able to be implemented and integrate all of Metro’s mobility services. Customers who set-up a new account will get one month free.
