HOLLYWOOD—Forget the Oliviers, the Hepburns or the royalty of Europe. The other day Carol Channing got to meet “Yo Gabba Gabba!” while promoting The Spirit of 45 (which honors Veterans of WWII, such as her husband Harry Kullijian).

The group is a popular kids’ show currently airing on Nick Jr. DJ Lance Rock, Muno (the red Cyclops), Foofa (the pink flower bubble), Brobee (a little hairy green monster), Toodee (the blue cat-dragon) and Plex (the magic yellow robot) joined “Good Day LA” for a sing-a-long and dance.

Carol tells Canyon News, “Brobee has my father’s eyes.” The “Yo Gabba Gabba!” show entitled “There’s A Party In My City” will be doing a 60-city North American live tour that kicks off on August 27. For more info go toyogabbagabba.com.

Because of Carol’s special interest in programs that entertain children, she works hard to create a Channing coalition. Most recently she produced and performed on a CD titled “For Heaven’s Sake” while continuing her national campaign to restore the Arts to public schools (ChanningArts.org). She’s been aided by Rep Jackie Speier who is behind a resolution that passed the House and is being presented to the Senate in September to help children.
