SANTA MONICA—Police are asking for the public’s assistance to locate a missing girl who was last seen on April 22.

According to a press release from Sergeant Jay Moroso of the Santa Monica Police Department, Laila Kaddoura was last seen around 1:00 p.m. at her home in Santa Monica. The bulletin noted that the 17-year-old has been diagnosed with Asperger’s syndrome complicated by symptoms of anxiety and depression. The combination of conditions has caused the police department to list the girl as a “critical missing person.” As of the printing of this story, she is being considered a run-away.

Kaddoura is described as being 5 foot 4 inches tall and weighing 130 pounds. She was last seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, dark gray jeans, gray or green tennis shoes and a black backpack.

The Santa Monica Police Department is asking anyone with any information regarding her current whereabouts are urged to call Detective Lloyd Gladden at 310-458-8931 or the department’s Communications Center, which is open 24 hours a day, at 310-458-8491. Anonymous tips can also left at 800-222-8477.
